Radial strapping method, on the other hand, are placed around the outside of the coil, near the edges where the slits have been made. These straps provide added stability and support, preventing the coil from unraveling or coming apart during transport or storage. Both types of straps are designed to be durable and reliable, ensuring that the coil remains securely in place.
To strap a coil through the outside diameter (OD), the first step is to place the coil on a flat surface or coil holder. Next, secure the coil with straps or clamps to prevent it from moving. Depending on the size and weight of the coil, additional support may be needed to hold it in place.
Once the coil is secure, measure the OD of the coil and cut a strap to the appropriate length. The strap should be made of a durable material such as steel or nylon and have a secure buckle or fastener.
Thread the strap through the OD of the coil and secure it in place with the buckle or fastener. It is important to ensure that the strap is tight and secure to prevent the coil from shifting or unraveling during transport or storage.
The final step is to check the coil for stability and make any necessary adjustments to the strap or supports to ensure that it is securely held in place. Once the coil is properly strapped through the OD, it is ready for transport or storage.
